Receiving Unwanted Calls or Texts

I'm receiving unwanted calls/text messages on my EngageCRM phone line. What can I do?

EngageCRM phone numbers may be called or texted to by outside users, just like any other phone number. To help prevent unwanted contacts by inbound call or text, we wait at least two months and monitor for low inbound contacts prior to re-introducing phone numbers. That said, some customers may still receive unwanted contacts on their EngageCRM number. In other cases, some contacts may be abusive or malicious in nature and you may want to entirely block all incoming texts or phone calls from a specific phone number. Below are two options for users who may be experiencing these issues.

Incoming Calls and Text Messages

Unwanted incoming calls or text messages to your EngageCRM number can be stopped by blocking all inbound text messages or calls from specific phone numbers by simply using the block feature inside of the contact record connected to the incoming phone number. Open the contact that contains the phone number in question. Click on the green block icon next to the phone number (indicated by the blue arrow below) of the contact inside the contact view:

Stop All Incoming Calls To Your Number

Another option is to communicate with our team that you only want to use your phone line for texting only. In this case, we can turn off ALL incoming calls to your EngageCRM number. This can be reversed at a future time if you choose to re-enable incoming phone calls. This is your last option before resorting to the final option below.

Change your EngageCRM Phone Number

If you were somehow the victim of phone line spoofing (where someone else on an outside network sends malicious texts "spoofing" your phone number or makes unsolicited calls "spoofing" your phone number as the caller ID) or if someone accidentally or maliciously posted your phone number online in advertisements or other solicitations and you conclude that your EngageCRM phone number is no longer worth keeping, you can always release your EngageCRM phone number and add a new number to your account.
